SCHOOL CODE OF CONDUCT
Every student in SRI AUROBINDO PUBLIC SCHOOL is expected to abide by a code of conduct which is as follows:
- Students are expected at all times to behave in a courteous and considerate manner towards each other, all members of staff and visitors to the school.
- The student will help in maintaining a congenial environment in the class for facilitating learning process and ensuring discipline. This means being punctual, being ready for the lesson, following instructions of teachers and ensuring that classes are held in an orderly fashion.
- The student will move in a disciplined manner in the school premises, so as to maintain the school decorum.
- The students are expected to speak politely and with respect.
- Wearing of I card is compulsory to school every day, and during exams.
- Students who are unwell with seasonal disease should take leave. In case doctor permit they should come with a face mask.
- No student has the right at any time to behave in a manner that will disrupt the learning activity of any other learner, or cause another learner physical or emotional harm.
- The student will keep the school neat and tidy. This means putting all litter in bins, keeping walls and furniture clean and undamaged, and taking care of the school property.
- The student has the right to freedom from bullying and be responsible not to bully. This means old students will create friendly environment for the new comers.
- The student will always be dressed correctly and smartly in the school uniform. Narrow pants are not a part of school uniform.
- The school will contact parents/guardians when ward’s behaviour becomes a cause of concern and the school will endeavour to resolve the issue, in a spirit of constructive partnership.
- Language that is seen as indecent, discriminatory, abusive, aggressive or communal is strictly prohibited.
- School does not encourage students to consume junk food. Therefore, all celebrations, including birthdays, should not promote unhealthy eating habits.
DISCIPLINE POLICY
Students must maintain the required norms of discipline and the above stated code of conduct.
- No student can leave the school premises without the prior permission of the Parent through Diary note, which will be signed by class teacher and countersigned by the Principal on the prescribed format i.e. Gate Pass.
- No student is allowed to leave the class without the permission of the teacher and without the class pass. Loitering and gossiping in the school corridor will be viewed seriously.
- Students should not entre the staffroom, other classrooms or admin office in the absence of teachers or admin staff.
- The parents/ guardians will be bound by school rules as amended from time to time.
- No student is allowed to enter the school premises without the school uniform (except on birthdays - students up to class V are allowed to wear the civil dress).
- Students are not allowed to keep cash except if the teacher permits. Any money sent to school as fines or other charges should be sent in a sealed envelope with name of the child, admission number, class and amount written neatly. Unauthorized money found with the student without any reasonable explanation will be confiscated and credited to the ‘Student welfare fund’.
ANTI BULLYING / RAGGING POLICY
Bullying is an act of aggression, causing embarrassment, pain or discomfort to someone. It can take a number of forms; physical, verbal, making gestures, extortion and exclusion. It is an abuse of power. It can be planned and organised, or it may be unintentional. It may be executed by individual or by group of pupils.
School will not tolerate any ragging, bullying activities in school. Bullied pupils will be listened to. Reported incidents will be taken seriously and thoroughly investigated. Strict action will be taken against the child (who is proven guilty of) indulging in such activities.
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
- The students must be regular and punctual in their attendance.
- No student may be taken out of the school premises without the written permission of the Principal.
- Leave of absence is not granted, except for serious reasons and only on a previous written application of parents or guardians. In the case of illness, where the application cannot be sent in advance, the office should be informed over the telephone (a mail may be sent to the school on the first day of absence).
- Leave application may be forwarded through the mobile app or e-mail to the school office.
- Students less than 75% attendance will not be permitted to attend the annual examination.
- Any student to be exempted from PT or games must produce a doctor’s certificate to the effect that he/she is physically unfit to take part therein.
- Students who leave without due notice or keep away from school, for more than seven days, offering no explanation for their absence, are struck off the rolls. As a rule, they are not re- admitted.
- Parents should be responsible for completion of work and bear the cost of the photocopy provided by the school.
- Students who have any infectious disease will not be allowed to attend the school even during the exams, unless they bring a doctor’s certificate stating that the period of infection is over.
